‘Study Sessions’ help prepare students for academic success

The Department of Multicultural Affairs will be hosting study sessions throughout the remainder of the fall semester.

An important tool for students to utilize, study sessions will be hosted on select Wednesdays throughout Oct., Nov. and Dec. for students to gain valuable study time and focus on subjects that may improve their grades. Study sessions are a great way to encourage students to work together to tackle difficult assignments, projects and study for upcoming exams. By comparing notes, understanding different perspectives, and having welcomed criticism, students who attend study sessions or study groups are more likely to feel confident when working through assignments and/or exams.

The calendar of study sessions is as follows:

Oct. 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.

Nov. 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.

Nov. 15, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.

Nov. 22, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.

Dec. 6, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.

All events will be hosted on the listed Wednesdays in the Boling University Center in room 214. The Study Sessions are meant to help students feel more confident in their academic capabilities and supported in their product output. The sessions are also a beautiful way for students to teach concepts to each other in a way that may seem more approachable and understanding. Additionally, study sessions are an amazing opportunity to network with other students in specific majors or classes.

With one of the study sessions being hosted before finals week and the final session being in the middle of finals, it would be beneficial to students to have help and encouragement during this rather stressful time. Additionally, students who study together in a more relaxed setting have a tendency to have more creative thinking skills and be more mindful communicators. This would help especially for students who have trouble presenting projects or facts.

For more information about the study sessions, students may check Runway for corresponding information.
