One of the most controversial things about Christmas is the order people do things on Christmas Day.
Personally, I start off with opening stockings, then opening presents and, lastly, eating breakfast. I think this is the best order, but some people have different opinions.
Another way people do things on Christmas is to eat breakfast, open presents and then do stockings. I personally think this is one of the worst ways. I understand if you’re waiting for everyone to come out and open presents, so you grab a quick snack, but that is not the same as the people who cook pancakes, waffles or biscuits then open presents.
Some people do a similar way, but instead of opening presents after breakfast they open stockings. I think this is better than the previous stated way of opening presents then stockings. If you were to finish eating breakfast early then you could open your stockings while you’re waiting for everyone else. However, this can also be one of the worst ways if you have to open stockings the same time as everyone else.
Another way people do things is by opening presents, then opening stocking and then eating breakfast. This is not a terrible way at all. While I do not think it is the best way, it is a good option. However, I may be biased about that.
An order that I would consider diabolical would be if you eat breakfast in the middle of opening presents and doing stockings. I believe stockings and presents go together. While I have never met or heard of someone eating in the middle of presents and stockings, I still believe it is an unnatural way to order it.
The great thing about doing stockings first is that while you are waiting for your family and friends you can start off by opening something, lessening the anticipation. I think if you do stockings then you have to do presents, they go together and the last thing you should do is eat breakfast.
Although I think my family’s order is the best way, I can see why people do have a different routine (unless you eat breakfast in the middle of presents and stockings). Either way, I hope that everyone has a great Christmas morning.
