The NFL Fieldhouse: First Annual Super Bowl Commercial Awards

Best Overall Commercial

And The Award Goes To: AXE Peace’s “Make Love, Not War” Commercial

This commercial had the perfect balance of poignancy, subtle humor, and inspirationality.  (Is that a real word?  No?  It is now.)  There’s a sense of awesomeness in it, but it’s not as quantifiable as one might expect from this kind of ad; rather, it’s a subtler, more mature take on the general premise of most of AXE’s commercials (i.e. man + AXE = instant chick magnet) with a dash of relevant social commentary.  I love it.

And that wraps it up for this year’s TNF Super Bowl Commercial Awards.  Tune in not this Saturday, but next Saturday, for the beginning of the NFL Fieldhouse’s Cold Fridge coverage. Until then, stay classy, America.
