Millennials are going extra mile to force changes in society

Mass shootings and gun violence are epidemics that are plaguing the United States of America.

While the federal government remains in constant gridlock over firearm regulation, millennials and the rest of the younger generation are making noise by protesting for stricter gun regulations.

The recent school shooting in Florida has prompted protests from high schools all across the country. Survivors of the Florida shooting made their way to Florida state capital Tallahassee to advocate for a ban on assault-type weapons, according to CBS News. Hundreds of students decided to skip school to protest in Washington D.C., the source of all the gridlock.

It’s fantastic to see the younger generation and millennials advocating for change they believe in. Millennials, typically written-off as a bunch of entitled brats, have the capacity to change the world given the opportunity. The government is in a constant state of gridlock that prevents any real progress from being made in any real capacity.

The fact that high school students are protesting the government goes to show the toxicity of the political landscape in the U.S.  Class walk-outs have become the popular form of protest among the students. Florida, Minnesota, Texas, and D.C., just to name a few places, have seen the brunt of the protests. The legislators are finally feeling the consequences of their constant inability to make change.

We at The Pacer stand behind these students and their actions. Millennials are now the driving force for change in every section of our government, and for good reason too.
