UT Martin Skyhawks redshirt junior guard Kenley McCarn (44) scored 40 points in a big win over Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) foe the Lindenwood Lions.
In the first quarter, UT Martin started hot, scoring 18 points and shooting 8-of-12 from the field. The Skyhawks allowed just 14 points.
During the second quarter, UT Martin had nearly identical shooting stats to the first: they scored 18 points yet again, but this time allowed 19 points on 8-of-12 from the field. Although, the Skyhawks retained the lead at half 36-33.
UT Martin struggled the most in the third quarter, going 5-of-12 from the field and allowing Lindenwood 14 points on 5-of-11 from the field.
Going into the fourth, UT Martin found themselves tied 47-47. With 16 seconds left on the clock, the Skyhawks were down by three at 70-67. Junior forward Norah Clark (25) then got the inbound and laid it up for two with six seconds left on the clock. The Skyhawks then fouled Lions junior guard Ellie Brueggemann (4) who missed both free throws. Clark then grabbed the rebound, giving the Skyhawks a chance at a timeout which led to McCarn getting fouled. McCarn made both free throw attempts to go up by one. Lindenwood then turned the ball over, fouling McCarn once again–she sank both to go up 73-70, declaring the final score.
McCarn led the team in scoring for the game with 40 points and grabbed four rebounds–Clark joined McCarn with four rebounds as well. Junior guard Brittani Wells (2) and freshman guard Sidni Middleton (5) followed up McCarn in the points column.
McCarn leads the team in scoring per game averaging 17.1 points per game. Redshirt sophomore forward Zy Thompson (12) leads the team in rebounds averaging 6.3 per game.
Next up for UT Martin is the 6-11 Southeast Missouri State Redhawks at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026. The Redhawks are 5-3 when playing at home.
