Westview five-star QB Ty Simpson commits to Alabama

Class of 2022 five-star quarterback (QB) of the Westview Chargers Ty Simpson committed to the University of Alabama, announcing his decision on Feb. 26, 2021.

The local product chose Alabama over schools like Clemson, Ole Miss, Tennessee and UTM. Simpson, currently a junior, will have one more season of high school football before heading over to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to play for the reigning national champions.

Ty is the son of current UTM head coach Jason Simpson, who has manned the helm of the Skyhawk football team since 2006.
