The UT Martin Skyhawks added to their win total after a 2-0 shutout victory against the Morehead State Eagles.
The first goal of the game came from senior midfielder Abbie McHenry in the 21 minute of the match after being set up by freshman forward Addy McCleary. The second goal would not come until the 82 minute after junior forward Peyton Cook intercepted a Morehead State pass and put the ball in the back of the net for the Skyhawk win. This win for UT Martin improves their record to 2-7-7 with a conference record of 2-3-2. It was also another impressive game from senior goalkeeper Mac Titus who picked up another clean sheet on the year.
After the win, UT Martin’s leading scorers remain the same, lead by Cook and sophomore defender Anna Østergaard Ibsen. Cook leads with four goals and 10 total points, and Ibsen with two goals and four total points. McCleary now leads the team in assist with three.
Next up for UT Martin is the Western Illinois Leathernecks on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025, at Skyhawk Soccer Field. UT Martin will look to grab their first home win against the Leathernecks. Western Illinois has allowed 63 total goals with just seven points scored on the season. They also have yet to win a game on the road or in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC). Western Illinois’ leading scorer is freshman midfielder Abigail Schilling with three goals and seven total points. Schilling is one of three girls on the team to score at least one goal this season.
