Multiple events will take place on the UT Martin campus in the coming days. Below is a compiled list of activities for students – ranging from incoming freshmen to graduate students and families.
Thursday, Aug. 20
- Official Move-In Day kicks off from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. in campus residence halls. First Year Experience check in continues from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Center for Student Engagement, located on the second floor of Boling University Center.
- The third annual Welcome Home Picnic is at 5:00 PM on the lawns between Conner Community and Ellington Hall.
Friday, Aug. 21
- Commuter Check-In begins at 8 a.m. and continues until 5 p.m. in the Center for Student Engagement.
- The debut of “Flight Frenzy” – taking the place of a more formal Convocation – will take place at 10 a.m. in the Elam Center. The event will feature a college game day-style question-and-answer session with administrators, faculty, students, and community partners, along with interactive activities, giveaways, and plenty of Skyhawk spirit. Signs, shakers, and lots of energy are strongly encouraged.
- The Student Success Center hosts “Free Play” focused on academic areas, life skills, and adulting from 3:30-5 p.m. across campus.
- The Housing Block Party will take place on the Connor Community Lawn at 7 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 22
- Campus tours begin at 10 a.m.
- The Student Success Center hosts “Free Play” focused on fun, social events that show students ways to engage with campus outside of the classroom from 2-5 p.m. across campus.
- UTM Flight Crew and First Year Experience host the annual Welcome Weekend Concert at the Elam Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the event is for students only – but you will need to show your Event Pass at the door to gain entry. This year’s artist is Hunter Hayes, featuring an opening performance by the Houston Kelly Band; Kelly, a former UTM student, was recently featured on NBC’s The Voice.
Sunday, Aug. 23
- Glow Night will take place at 6 p.m. on the second floor of the Boling University Center.
Monday, Aug. 24
- Fall 2026 classes officially begin! Don’t be late.
- This year’s Campus Involvement Fair will be held in conjunction with the City of Martin as the City & Campus Involvement Fair, from
5:30–7:00 p.m., in the Elam Center.
Thursday, Aug. 27
- The third annual Skyhawk Palooza will begin at 4 p.m. in Veterans Park, next to Hardy M. Graham Stadium. Skyhawk Palooza includes food trucks, games, face painting and inflatables. The event will also feature live music from Nashville-based singer-songwriter Hunt Pipkin and Band, and the Aviators Marching Band will lead the Skyhawk Walk Grand Entrance. The public is invited.
- At 6:30 p.m. the UTM Skyhawks will host Central Arkansas for the football home opener. Immediately following the game a fireworks show will close out UT Martin’s 125th Celebration.
