One of my favorite things to do is explore the great outdoors.
Every summer I visit at least one Tennessee State Park. I have been to many state parks, such as Tims Ford, Fort Pillow, Natchez, Rock Island, Pickett CCC, Sgt. Alvin C. York and many more. You never really know what you could see when you go camping.
One of the coolest things I have found was at Pickett CCC State Park. The park has a beautiful waterfall, and you can swim in it once you hike down to the bottom. On a hot summer day, when the heat is going strong, it is a nice spot for a swim, even if the water is freezing.
Of course, swimming in a waterfall pool can be dangerous due to the wildlife being out and about, so I always proceed with caution. Another thing I love to do when going camping is kayaking. Being in the middle of a lake surrounded by trees and wildlife is something truly beautiful, and you will not understand what it is like until you experience it for yourself.
Hiking is also super fun, and each hike is unique in its own way. Some hikes lead to waterfalls, some lead to historic battlegrounds and some have bridges high up with planks missing.
Although these things are fun, it is also important to be mindful of the animals that are nearby. One important thing to remember is to always throw away your trash. Throwing trash on the ground or in a body of water can have a negative impact on the wildlife nearby. This is their home, and it is important to keep it clean and safe.
Another thing to remember is to avoid picking plants. Many state parks already advise people not to pick plants. The plants are absolutely beautiful and I want to pick them, but out of respect to the wildlife and the state park, it is best that I avoid picking flowers.
Tennessee State Parks have many fun things to do. One of my personal favorites is getting my Tennessee State Park passport stamped. To acquire a passport book, all you have to do is go to a state park and ask for one, then as you travel to other state parks, you can get your book stamped at each location.
I absolutely enjoy the great outdoors, and camping, boating and hiking are just a few of my favorites. Spending time outside is way better than watching TV and playing video games all day. Typically, people watch TV and play video games to unwind for the day, but I think camping is the real way to unwind.
