NFL 2025-26 Week Seven Preview: Former head coach makes his return to Nashville

The Chicago Bears got their get-back. After the team lost on a desperation pass by the Washington Commanders in 2024, the Bears won in 2025 off a walk-off 38-yard field goal. How will week seven play out?

For the fourth straight week, the NFL has an international game. Overall, one could argue this is good for the NFL brand. On the flip side, it takes away home games for teams and sometimes the fans’ ability to attend games.

In week seven, the games featured include: A London game as the Los Angeles Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars face off. The New England Patriots head to Nashville to take on the Tennessee Titans. The uniform matchup features the Indianapolis Colts and the Los Angeles Chargers.

Jaguars host the Rams in their “second home” at Wembley Stadium

The Rams won, but did they really win? In week six, the team traveled to the Baltimore Ravens. In a sloppy game, the Rams came out on top 17-3. A “dominant” win, maybe, but they did not come out clean.

Star wide receiver Puka Nacua has been off to an amazing start to the season. Before the game, Nacua was on pace to shatter former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas’ reception record of 149 catches and former Detroit Lions and Hall of Fame wide receiver Calvin Johnson’s receiving yards record of 1,964 yards. In the second quarter, Nacua went up for a catch in the endzone, and not only did he drop it, but he also landed awkwardly.

Nacua was then listed as questionable and played a few snaps to start the second half, but was quickly downgraded to out. Nacua is now considered day-to-day with an ankle sprain per Rams head coach Sean McVay. The expectation is that Nacua will miss the team’s matchup against the Jaguars in London to allow him to heal up this week and the next–the team’s bye week.

This Rams offense is likely to lose a step against a tough Jaguars defense. They struggled–mostly–against a historically bad Ravens defense without Nacua; one could only imagine how they might perform against a top-tier defense. Veteran wide receiver Davante Adams will need to step up, along with the younger weapons at receiver in Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington.

Even in the loss, hopes seem high for the Jaguars. They played one of the best teams in football, the Seattle Seahawks, and for the majority of the game went toe-to-toe with them. A loss sucks and could hurt them later down the line, but there is no reason for the Jaguars to be ashamed here.

The stats may not show it–27 completions on 42 attempts, 258 passing yards and two passing touchdowns–but quarterback Trevor Lawrence looked elite. Lawrence has struggled to put together a performance with little or no mistakes, but this game looked like it. As Lawrence plays better, so does his second-year wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. Thomas–like Lawrence–has struggled to find his footing this year, maybe even worse than Lawrence. Thomas played his best game of the season against the Seahawks, with eight catches on 10 targets, 90 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Like the Rams, the Jaguars were also unable to escape week six without a star player hurt. Off-ball linebacker Devin Lloyd has been off to an amazing, and some would even argue an elite, season. Head coach Liam Coen said Lloyd felt tightness in his calf, and the team wanted to do further testing. Lloyd was quickly ruled out for the team’s London game to avoid injury.

This marks a great opportunity for veteran off-ball linebacker Foye Oluokun to show the league he can still play at an elite level and still be the team’s signal-caller when needed. Since Oluokun signed with the Jaguars in the 2022 offseason, he has recorded two seasons with 100-plus tackles and an interception with the team in all but his first season.

With injuries on both sides, this game could go either way. The Jaguars take advantage of their second home in Wembley and blow out the Rams.

Final Score: Rams 14 – Jaguars 30

Mike Vrabel makes his return to Tennessee for the first time since being fired

In five seasons with the Titans as head coach, Vrabel won 54 games and lost 45. Vrabel started off his tenure with the Titans at 9-7 and just barely missed the playoffs in 2018. In 2019, fate did not change with the record, 9-7 again, but playoff success did.

Vrabel and the Titans would go on a “Cinderella run.”

First, they beat the New England Patriots and soon-to-be Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady in New England. This was Brady’s last game as a Patriot. Vrabel and the Titans spoiled it with a score of 20-13.

Second, the team traveled to the powerhouse Ravens, who featured the 2019 Most Valuable Player, quarterback Lamar Jackson. The Ravens were the best rushing offense in football that season, rushing for 3,296 yards, more than a thousand more than the next team.

Guess who stopped them, though? Not only did the Titans stop them, but they blew them out 28-12.

The run had to come to an end, though, as the Kansas City Chiefs hosted the Titans in the AFC Championship game. The Titans started the game hot but could not finish against the future Super Bowl LIV Champions and fell 24-35.

In what everyone thought was a fluke season, Vrabel and the Titans proved them wrong, winning 11 games in 2020. They would host the Ravens in the wild-card round of the playoffs, but the Ravens got their revenge in a 20-13 win.

Vrabel’s team would improve even more, going on to win 12 games in 2021 and earn the top seed in the AFC playoffs. That did not mean much, though, as the Titans fell 19-16 to the future 2021 Super Bowl runner-ups, the Cincinnati Bengals. This loss would be the start of the downfall of the Vrabel-led Titans.

In 2022 and 2023, the Titans would finish with losing records of 7-10 and 6-11. The Titans figured it was time to move on and fired Vrabel on Jan. 9, 2024. The team then went to the team that ended their playoff run and hired Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan on Jan. 22, 2024.

To no one’s surprise, after starting his career 4-19, the Titans fired Callahan and promoted senior offensive assistant Mike McCoy. McCoy has head coach experience with the Chargers from 2013 to 2016.

Now, in Vrabel’s return to Tennessee, two young quarterbacks in the Titans, Cam Ward and Patriots Drake Maye, face off. Vrabel will be looking to get “revenge”, while the Titans will be looking to get Ward on the right track–even if it means a loss.

The Titans’ coaching change boosts them to a close game, but Vrabel gets his revenge at the end of the day.

Final Score: Patriots 24 – Titans 22

The Chargers debut their “Charger Power” uniforms against red-hot Colts

On July 15, 2025, the Chargers debuted two brand-new alternate uniforms and decided to wear the first of the two in week seven against the Colts. The uniforms are not bad per se, but very interesting.

The Colts will wear their regular away uniforms, which feature a white base with blue accents. Nothing fancy.

The Chargers will wear their “Charger Power” uniforms, which feature a yellow base with powder blue and white accents with white helmets. Personally, these uniforms would look better with white helmets, yellow jerseys and white pants, but oh well.
