NFL 2025-26 Preview Week 11: NFC and AFC West Divisions highlight best matchups of the week
#9 Matthew Stafford shows off the Midnight Mode Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium on Aug. 28, 2025. (Los Angeles Rams)
As the NFL settles into 10 weeks of the season, there has started to become a clear gap of who is good and who is not — at least you would think that.
Just when you think the Buffalo Bills are back on track after a win against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9, they get killed by the Miami Dolphins in Week 10. How about the NFC powerhouse showdown between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers on “Monday Night Football” in Week 10? That ended with a 10-7 Eagles win–a low scoring affair to say the least.
Week 11 is here, and there are some good matchups. The matches covered in Week 11 include an NFC West showdown in the Hollywood city and an AFC West showdown that could solidify whether the defending AFC champ has a chance to win its division. The uniform matchup this week is instead a spotlight with two teams set to debut their rivalry uniforms.
Battle of NFC West “Titans”: Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams square off in Los Angeles
What a season it has been for the Seattle Seahawks. After the team went 10-7 in 2024 and missed the playoffs, the team shipped off quarterback Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick. The team then looked toward free agency to fill the need and signed former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold to a three-year, $100.5 million contract. There were questions if the move would work out for the Seahawks.
To simply put it, yes. Darnold has played like one of the best quarterbacks in football this season, and while the most recent game in Week 10 versus the Arizona Cardinals was not elite per the box score, he did not need to be. The team won 44-22, and he only attempted 12 passes. To go along with Darnold’s breakout, so has third-year wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Smith-Njigba is fifth in receptions (63), first in receiving yards (1,041), tied for 14th in touchdown receptions (five) and first in 20-plus-yard receptions (18).

The offense is not the only reason why this team is so elite, though. Just look at the defense. In Week 10 versus the Cardinals, veteran defensive end Demarcus Lawrence scored not one but two touchdowns—both scoop-and-scores from recovered fumbles. And while the rest of the defensive end room has been lackluster, do not even think about attempts towards the middle of the defensive line. Veteran defensive tackle Leonard Williams and second-year defensive tackle Byron Murphy II have each recorded five sacks on the season and posted 73.6 and 74.9 Pro Football Focus grades—17th and 12th at their respective positions.
On the flip side of the NFC West team, the Los Angeles Rams return home after a blowout 42-26 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 10. This comes off another huge day from quarterback Matthew Stafford and his receivers.
Stafford is a 37-year-old who has somehow continued to get better year in and year out. This year he has taken things to the next level with MVP play or “video-game numbers.” Stafford became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for four or more touchdowns and zero interceptions in three straight games—five against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 7, four versus the New Orleans Saints in Week 9 and four against the 49ers in Week 10. The math has simply not made sense, but he continues to make elite play after elite play. Stafford has also not thrown an interception since Week 3 against the Eagles—just two on the season.

To help him, another old veteran has turned around his career: wide receiver Davante Adams. In that same three-game stretch, Adams has caught six touchdowns and now leads the league with nine on the season. Just when you think things cannot get any worse, in steps Puka Nacua. Nacua may not have the touchdowns Adams does, but he more than makes up for it with game averages of eight catches and 96 receiving yards—66 catches and 775 receiving yards on the season.
In what could and will be an offensive shootout, the Seahawks defense steps up when needed most and intercepts Stafford for the third time this season.
Final score: Seahawks 31, Rams 27
Kansas City Chiefs look for a get-right match against the Denver Broncos in Denver
The Kansas City Chiefs have had a disappointing season. This can range from the defense that took a step back to the underperformance of the weapons and run game around quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who has been one of the few bright spots on this team. With that said, Mahomes had a rough week against the Bills in Week 9, where they lost 28-21, and he finished the game under 50% completion and threw one interception.
The one consistent piece of this struggling offense has been wide receiver Rashee Rice, who missed the first six games of the season due to a suspension. Rice recorded nine catches for two touchdowns in Week 7 and 93 receiving yards and one touchdown in Week 8. He also had four catches for 80 receiving yards and his first career rushing touchdown in Week 9. The team has gone 2-1 since Rice returned, but he alone cannot revive this offense.

Luckily for the Chiefs, there is a trick up their sleeve as the team comes off its bye. While the play calling has felt lackluster—and sometimes bad—head coach Andy Reid is still not to be underestimated. Reid has only lost four regular-season games when his teams come off a bye week and has won 22 overall. The past two seasons, Reid has brought the team off the bye and won against the Raiders 31-17 in 2023 and against the Denver Broncos 16-14 in 2024.
The Broncos have been a puzzling team this season. The team is tied for the best record in football at 8-2, yet they lead the league in punts with 53. Second-year quarterback Bo Nix has been up and down on the rollercoaster of success. Nix will start out games rough but usually finds a way to pull the Broncos “out of the mud” and win. Take the team’s Week 7 win over the New York Giants as an example.
The Broncos and Nix were down 19-0 at the start of the fourth. Nix had struggled up to that point with under 200 passing yards and zero touchdowns. Then Nix and the Broncos went into overdrive as they scored 33 points and Nix passed for two touchdowns and rushed for another two. The Broncos defense also came up big with a forced punt and an interception to set up the Broncos offense to score.
The team was down 15-7 in the fourth quarter against the Houston Texans in Week 9. But, you guessed it, Nix and the Broncos came up clutch with 11 unanswered fourth-quarter points. This playstyle, while exciting, is not sustainable, and the Broncos will need to figure it out sooner rather than later.
Never bet against the Chiefs and Reid coming off a bye.
Final score: Chiefs 23, Broncos 16
Uniform spotlight: Patriots show off “Nor’Easter,” Rams go “Midnight Mode”
And so the NFL rivalry-uniform debuts continue. After a long break since Sept. 29, 2025, when the Bills wore their “Cold Front” rivalry uniforms against the New England Patriots in Week 5, the NFL is set to show off two new uniforms in one week.
To kick things off on “Thursday Night Football,” the Patriots will wear their “Nor’Easter” rivalry uniforms against the New York Jets. The uniforms are quite different from the normal dark navy blue seen from the Patriots. They reflect the Boston weather seen in the fall and winter. The uniforms feature a base color of “Storm Blue” with accents of red and white, a logo of “NE” on the shoulders and the saying “We Are All Patriots” inside the collar, a reference to what owner Robert Kraft said after the team won its first Super Bowl on Feb. 3, 2002.
Then instead of a darker uniform in primetime, the NFL placed the Rams on the 3 p.m. slate. In this game, the Rams will debut their “Midnight Mode” rivalry uniforms against the Seahawks. They feature an extremely dark navy base that almost looks black to reflect the “Los Angeles Nights.” The uniforms pair the base navy color with accents of blue, yellow and white; the shoulders of the jerseys are ram horns and the inside of the collar says “Rams House” in honor of the fans.
