Campus closed for winter holiday

Administrative offices at UTM are now closed and will remain closed through Friday, Dec. 27, for the winter holiday.

Many offices will be open on regular schedules Dec. 30-31, but will be closed again on Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day. The university will be back on its regular schedule beginning Jan. 2. Spring semester classes begin Thursday, Jan. 9, at both the main campus and the centers in Jackson, Parsons, Ripley, Selmer and Somerville.

Except for the Jackson Center, the centers will have the same schedule as the main campus. The Jackson Center will remain closed Dec. 30-31 in accordance with the Jackson State Community College holiday schedule, according to a University Relations press release.

Main campus holiday hours for individual offices:

  • The Recycle Barn will be open from 7 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Saturday, Dec. 21, and during regular hours Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 30-31 (7 a.m. – 1 p.m. Monday and 3-6 p.m. Tuesday).
  • The Office of Housing will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30. The office will have staff on call for the entire break to assist residents who remain on campus and they can be reached by calling 731-881-8930 or stopping by the Ellington Hall front desk.
  • Campus Recreation will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30.  
  • The Paul Meek Library will reopen at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30.
  • The Elam Center will reopen at 7 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30. For additional information regarding winter break hours and the hours of operation for the spring semester, feel free to visit www.utm.edu/departments/campusrec/elamhours.php. Please note that the pool will not reopen until Jan. 2.
  • The University Center will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2. A list of operational hours for the entire semester is available by visiting www.utm.edu/departments/ucenter/hours.php
  • The Barnes & Noble bookstore will resume normal business hours on Jan. 2.
  • UTM Dining Services: All locations will reopen Thursday, Jan. 9.
