The AOII Run For The Roses 5k and a Fun Run for children will be held on Saturday, September 29 at The Sideline. Registration begins at 7:30 A.M. with the 5k race following at 8:00 A.M. and the Fun Run immediately after.
The 5k is open to everyone and the registration fee is $25. The children’s one mile Fun Run is for Children 12 and under and the registration fee is $10. Each participant will receive a t-shirt and the top winners from each age group will receive awards. The sisters of AOII will also be cheering the participants on throughout the race and a water stop will be available.
Participants may pick up a registration form from The Sideline, the University Center Information Desk, or from any member of AOII. The registration forms can be turned in at The Sideline or at the registration table the day of the race.
Run For The Roses is sponsored by the Tau Omicron chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity. The proceeds will benefit the Arthritis Foundation and Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity.
The Tau Omicron chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi was established at U.T. Martin in 1966. Alpha Omicron Pi was founded in 1897 at Barnard College, part of the current Columbia University in New York City. Philanthropy is a priority, with almost $1 million in grants being donated to arthritis research by the AOII Foundation since 1987.
